Here Are the 3 Biggest LA Home Sales of the Last Week - Curbed LA

The Lowdown:The Redfin listing on this mid-century estate is a bit of a tease: there's only one picture, and it says the house was relisted 10 days ago for $14.995 million and sold three days later. Luckily our 2011 post on the property came through with photos and the original listing price, which shows this to be a pricechop par excellence. Home to late attorney Arthur J. Crowley, it has "a huge motor court, lush open park-like grounds ... a huge open living room, bar/lounge entertainment area, formal dining room, library/office, & new modern Leicht/Gaggenau Euro kitchen." That bar/lounge area also featured at one point a truly ridiculous collection of wall-mounted animal skins.

The Lowdown: This 2009-built "property of rare elegance" features "formal entertaining rooms, paneled library, upstairs family room, gym & exceptional cook's kitchen, family room that opens up to stone patios, large lawn & pool/spa." Size: Four-bedroom, six-bathroom house in 5,114 square feet.
Location: 706 North Oakhurst Drive, Beverly Hills
The Lowdown: This 1947 house near the eastern edge of Beverly Hills was recently "expanded & remodeled by a top designer, with the finest materials & finishes." Whoever that designer is clearly has a thing for wacky wall treatments, which this house has in spades. It also makes you wonder what's the point of being able to afford a $7 million house if you still can't find a better place for your TV than above a fireplace, six inches below the ceiling.
