Duluth, MN (NNCNow.com) -- More than one hundred people gathered at Bay Front Park Tuesday night to meet and greet GOP candidates running for Governor, U.S Senate, and Congress.
Northern Liberty Alliance hosted the event where Minnesota gubernatorial candidates Dave Thompson, Jeff Johnson, and Orono Businessman Scott Honour were in attendance.
Thompson is a State Senator in Lakeville who carried 'Right to Work' legislation in the Minnesota Legislature.
Johnson is a Hennepin County Commissioner and Republican National Committeeman.
The President of the Northern Liberty Alliance, Becky Hall, says her group's annual event gives conservative and libertarian leaning voters "the opportunity to voice their opinions."
"Our Annual Liberty Picnic is a wonderful opportunity to have candidates and elected officials to come and talk to folks while sharing a brat and having some chips and pop," said Hall.
Another Republican candidate challenging Governor Dayton in 2014 is former Minnesota House Speaker, Kurt Zellers.
Former Minority Leader Marty Seifert says he is mulling a bid for Governor as is GOP State Senator Julie Rosen, who helped pass the Vikings Stadium bill.
Vice President of Mills Fleet Farm, Stewart Mills, was also in attendance. Mills is exploring a run as a candidate in Minnesota's Eighth Congressional District that is currently held by Rick Nolan.
